Come to my demesne

 Right before the Chinese New Year’s eve on Wednesday, before which my blog was rarely updated, I wanna cast a succinct retrospect on the year past. And place some hopes to the new semester.

   I tried to transfer my major from Environmental Science and Technology to Computer Science and Technology. “Environment” and “Science” are quite different in many aspects. First cs(computer science) places more emphasis on the mathematics and programming, meanwhile sese(school of evironmental science and engineering) needs more knowledge of chemistry and physics(chemistry is more important than physics according to the main courses which the sesers take). Secondly, cs belongs to the school of electrical engineering and electric information. It’s one of the biggest schools in SJTU. Certainly the students in this school have many opportunities—the quotas of students of going abroad, and of admission to master degree are large.

   My first idea of transfer comes being when the chemistry becomes a difficulty for me. It seems to me that to learn the chemistry well and to get the high score(>90) in the exam are just my whim. However ,at the same time , my zest on the computer programming and mathematics is triggered after I browse many computer books.

   It’s really a good challenge for me after the large-span major transfer. Though I have to relearn some math courses and physics, to make up the credits required, yet my GPA should remain keeping good. Because GPA is the major factor in valuing the academic level (our word “GPA is the king rule), that is to say: no high GPA, no good opportunity.  

  These days, Shanghai has the heavy snow which never ever had I thought would be here. There is an old dialect in China: The good snow brings the good year.  Some new year’s resolutions made here:

1.     Learn more knowledge about computer. Try to be more “expert” on this field.

2.     Having more physical activities each day, for the last year my body is not very well, and I feel tired frequently.

3.     Overcoming some shortcomings.

4.     Making my GPA better.

5.     Making more friends.

Summary: Piggie year: not so bad, Rat year: just look ahead. Luckiest thing: I’m still promising.
